The story behind our name
True love doesn’t have a happy ending, because true love doesn’t end.
A British girl named Anika came all the way to Pyin Oo Lwin to retrace the footsteps of her grandfather, a soldier posted to the hill town during the British colonial period.
Anika never expected to meet the love of her life on that visit. She fell in love with a local man named Khin, and together they made many beautiful memories in this charming hill town.
But her parents disapproved, and she was forced to leave Khin — and the country — behind. Khin spent his whole life waiting for her…
It’s difficult to wait, but more difficult to regret.

At The Waiting Lodge, we anchor everything on three key design concepts.
Nature
Escape into nature, with greenery all around and numerous gardens and parks nearby. The resort was built conscientiously to preserve as much of the site’s greenery as possible. The climate and terrain here are ideal for growing beautiful flowers all year round — we even have our very own herb garden.

By day, enjoy the cool weather and have fun with your loved ones; by night, bask in the romantic lustre that glows throughout the property. We designed The Waiting Lodge so that you can continuously spark new memories with us.

The Waiting Lodge is family-friendly. With that in mind, activities such as horse-carriage rides, nature trails and outdoor barbecue facilities have been specially curated for you and your loved ones to enjoy together.
